The mesmerizing and delicious al basc is here! I punched down this fermenting juice with my bare feets. And no it doesn’t taste like my feet, although I’ve been told my feet taste delicious. And don’t worry, I had been getting pedicures on a regular basis. But it’s also true I walk barefoot where most are afraid to walk with shoes, but I assure you before doing punch downs with these pretty toes I hosed them off well, the goats insisted.

8 months skin contact. You know how much I love skin contact, I’m referring only to a winemaking process, of course.

Thank you @laclarinefarm

I knew I’d feel so sad when the bottle ran empty and I do. 2015 “al basic” Albariño @laclarinefarm Thats right, 7 months skin contact, unfined & unfiltered. A beautifully colored wine and flavors that are beyond descriptions. And the next vintage of this might just taste a bit like my feet, since after all I spent 3 days on the farm doing punchdowns ankle deep in fermentation.

Government Warning!? When has a government ever told the truth?

What this warning should read is the following: When slightly chilled this bottle of wine could cause extreme happiness. You may be inspired to improvise amazing acts of kindness. You may feel the urge to kiss strangers, feed stray animals, and help old people cross the street (good luck with that last one in LA). Other risks include; dancing, singing, laughing, and prolonged erection. It’s delicious, it’s affordable.

What’s in it? 59% Mourvedre, 21% Marsanne, 15% Grenache and 5% Syrah.

Dear Albariño “al basc” 2015 Sierra Foothills White Wine,

I can’t get you off my mind. You’re a bottle of sunshine. You have 7 months skin contact. You’re an unfined and unfiltered beauty. You’re a mouthful of definable and undefinable flavors. You’re delicious and addictive. And if I heard Hank correctly, there are only 20 cases of you. And you’ll only be available to those on the mailing lists. If I could, I’d keep you all to myself. I know I’m selfish, but I just can’t help it. I’m fortunate to have tasted you and lucky to have 1 bottle of you. I’m saving you for a sad and rainy day, the sad will most likely come before the rain. Until then, take care.

Sincerely,

@awordtothewine
